What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday started in the United States in 2012 to encourage charitable giving during the holiday season. Over the last decade it has turned into a global movement taking place in almost 100 countries across the world with charities and community groups coming together to celebrate generosity of all forms, whether it’s making a donation, volunteering, or doing something special for a loved one.

This Year’s Rainy Season Brought Severe Flooding to Our Island Guenon Enclosure

The rising water caused structural damage, washing away dry resting spaces and left the outdoor area unsafe and unsanitary for the troop to be allowed unlimited access to. Just like us, primates are at serious risk when exposed to prolonged cold and wet conditions, leaving them vulnerable to illness.
That’s why this Giving Tuesday, we’re rallying our community to help us rebuild the enclosure before the rain-season arrives next year!
