Olive baboons have a greenish/olive agouti coat. Adult males have longer hair on the shoulders than the females. Both males and females have a black face and ruffs on the cheeks.

They feed on grass, seeds, young leaves, fruits, tubers, cereals, invertebrates, young birds and small mammals.
